Essonite garnet

Splendido esemplare di granato essonite di 5,93 carati.

In India is considered the most valid talisman, and it is donated for births, marriages, and in all social occasions when you want to emphasize the hope of a good outcome in life, as long as in harmony with the great laws of nature.

We will talk about essonite garnet.

Most of the essonite garnets come from the ancient floods in Sri Lanka. This island, so full of colors and perfumes, and so peaceful at one time, gave this stone a sweeter name than “grossularia garnet essonite variety“. The beautiful name that bids this stone is: “Cinnamon Stone“. The color can vary from the well-known light brown sticks of cinnamon, to the fire orange of the cinnamon flower. And you can well speak of fire orange, because the fire of this gem has a lot to do with, and is always present in the fragrant and often disconcerting eastern cooking, just like cinnamon.

Essonite lot with native cut, worked for the local market, with smooth edges, approximate geometry and careless polishing. Nevertheless, these stones give very deep transferable communicative graciousness.

The East. The holy land of Maharaja, of the reincarnated, of priests by right of birth, of Brahmins, of living traditions, but to us so far away and of which we feel the lack, and of which we often envy the serene transcendence. And who has lived for some time in the East, saw the death by burning of the simple and the death by burning of the powerful, saints and noble. All are carried out with conscious serenity, except for the cases of political death or criminal offenders, which are unfortunately becoming always more and more common. But let us talk of saints and nobles, the nobles who, having lived a truly noble life, are for this reason similar to the saints. To them, and to them alone, before accompanying them at the stake, some precious stones are placet inside their mouths, probably in memory of the precious stones that the tradition wants were discovered amidst Buddha’s ashes. The stones that accompany these worthy people, are exactly the “Cinnamon Stone“, our Essonite Garnet.

With the aroma of the burning fire, even the part of the spirit more related to the body leaves matter, on doing so it also leaves memory of its passage to the stones which have been placed in the mouth. And who among the heirs will have one of those stones, will be aware and involved, in some subtle level, to the values, the nobility and the holiness that has permeated that gem, and will be led to behave in harmony with these. The amulet is a channeler of subtle energies, and here the channeled energies are particularly sweet and strong. Why, for harmony, all the earth’s essonite garnets participating in this channelling, and it is for this reason that in India this stone has a domestic market which absorbs almost the entire production.

These pebbles of the color of ember originate from Kataragama (District of Sri Lanka). In this region there is a temple, a place of massive pilgrimages during the celebrations of the full moon in August. On that occasion, hundreds of faithful walk barefoot on hot charcoals.

Surprising is the orange hue of this stone: the orange is in fact quite rare in gemology and can be expressed in an unlimited variety of shades, infact, two identical stones are virtually impossible to find.

Una pietra dal simpatico taglio a scudo sviluppato su tre tavole, chiamato “taglio a becco di tucano”.

A special processing of the pavillion causes sabers of light reminiscent of the flickering flame.

For the Indian market, this stone is usually crafted in a rather approximate way, importing more the body of the gem than its appearance. But in one thing they are rigorous because for this stone to assolve to its functions of luck, it is necessary that the tip of the stone touch the finger of its owner. So only in this way an energy exchange can be efficiently expressed.
