Eve, the Serpent, and Adam

STONE DREAMS

- Eve, the Serpent, and Adam -

We are storytellers.
We are no longer used to the coziness of storytelling by the fireside or in the warmth of a farm.
We tell stories that are part of our territory, part of our emotions, part of our lives.
And we realize this through our books and our jewelry.
A bit of culture and a dazzling smile.
Always.

ORI e GEMME
Paolo and Francesca Severi

Pavia, St. Michael Basilica, capital in the central nave – Eleventh century about-

From the Sacred Tree, in the heart of the Garden of Eden, the Serpent offers the fruit of knowledge to Eve. Humanity has had the gift of the responsibility of free will. Eva reciprocates by offering her breast, the nourishment for Life. I wonder if she brought a little free will, even beyond human multitude.

A representation full of mystery. The woman accepts enormous responsibilities, with a smile. Yes, it is the woman who has direct contact with the Tree of Life. (There are also other interpretations)

Romanesque capital – XI-XII century. – A burnished Silver reproduction performed with three-dimensional photogrammetric methods. The sculpture faithfully repeats with great precision proportions and details of the original. We thank the ecclesiastical cultural heritage office of the Diocese of Pavia and the basilica of San Michele for their cooperation.
